What’s happening actually?
The Indian platter of emotional films with a family and society orientation finds good audience in China. That is how Dangal, Secret Superstar, Hindi Medium and now Toilet Ek Prem Katha have succeeded. And it’s also why Bahubali 2 did not succeed. Because they see enough of those fantasy films there.
It is also evident that they value our values of society and morals, It is a takeaway that they like to take back home. Our ideas of tolerance, determination to succeed and somehow trying to make it happen in life. Possibly, they identify with such things quite a lot over there.
Tells me something. Why not mainland Africa? They too share the same values as we do? And Africa is a sizable population.
Is anyone listening?
